Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- As Al 'The Haitian Temptation' Sands comes closer to his first-ever shot at a national title, he says the decrease in training hours leads to an increase in nerves before he finally steps in the ring at Black Bear Casino.
"It's hard to go from running twice a day and working out in the gym with our coaches to resting," Sands said. "You really build up that nervous energy, and you're just ready to explode on fight night."
Sands is (12-1) as a pro boxer and has 11 wins via knockout, but this is his first shot at a national belt. His opponent will be Keith Barr, with North American Boxing Association (NABA)-US Cruiserweight championship bout part of a card scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on April 21.
