Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- A league-high four St. Scholastica players have earned all-Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) softball first team honors, it was announced on Monday afternoon.
Seniors Bonnie Kowalczyk and Darcy Roach lead the way for the Saints, with junior Tiff Hudack and freshman Rendi Johnson joining them on the first team and freshman Kasandra McCabe earning honorable mention.
Kowalczyk earns first team honors for a fourth consecutive season, ending her career first in program history with 60 doubles and second with 154 runs batted in.
Roach, meanwhile, makes her second straight appearance on the first team after finishing her career tied for second in program history with 37 pitching wins and third in both strikeouts (329) and saves (3).
Hudack, a native of Ashland, Wis., makes his first appearance on the first team after leading the UMAC this season with 36 runs scored and 14 stolen bases.
Johnson, also named the UMAC rookie of the year, led conference pitchers this season with a 1.36 earned run average against league opponents. She also added a league-high nine doubles and was second with 23 runs batted in.
McCabe was second in the UMAC with six home runs and 52 total bases this season, leading the team at one point with a 13-game hitting streak.
