Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Duluth East girls' tennis team will do something Tuesday morning that no one from their school has done since 1995 --- play in MSHSL Class AA girls' tennis tournament.

The Greyhounds won the Section 7AA championship last week, beating Elk River 4-3 to earn a spot in the eight-team state tournament for the first time in nearly two decades.

"It was our number one goal," head coach Lee Kruger said. "We wanted to get to state, so anything after this is just frosting for us. We're going to go there and play relaxed. This was our number one goal, and really it was our only goal."

Duluth East wil take on #1-seeded Edina in the MSHSL Class AA quarterfinals, with that match set to start at 8:00 a.m. on Oct. 22 on the University of Minnesota campus.
