'Jackets Build Lead, Hang on to Beat Eagles

Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- The University of Wisconsin-Superior (UWS) women's basketball team led by ten at the half and hung on down the stretch to oust the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse 71-66 on Saturday.

UWS senior Sally Linzmeier led all scorers with 19 points and 10 rebounds, good enough for a double-double. Deandra Vavra added 14 points and 8 board while Grace Kennedy had 11 points for the Yellowjackets.

UW-Superior (13-10) returns to action on Wednesday night against UW-River Falls. Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m. at the Karges Center.
