Lumberjills Get Two Wins in Duluth

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Forced to play games originally scheduled for Ashland, Wis. in Duluth, Minn., the Northland softball team made the best of it on Tuesday afternoon with wins over North Central and Northwestern on a makeshift turf field on St. Scholastica's campus.

The Lumberjills first dispatched of North Central 10-1 in six innings before beating Northwestern 11-6 in the second game, in which Northland exploded for eight runs in the top of the seventh and final inning.

Northland is now (10-16) overall this season and (10-4) in conference play, sitting in second place behind only St. Scholastica at this point in the season.
