No. 10 Saints Finish Off Sweep of Lake Forest

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The No. 10 St. Scholastica men's hockey team scored two early goals and then added two shorthanded goals on their way to ousting Lake Forest 5-1 on Saturday afternoon at Mars Lakeview Arena.

Michael Spring got the Saints on the board first before Matt Malenstyn added another to make it 2-0 at the end of the period. Alex Valenti and Brandon Nowakowski both scored shorthanded goals in the second, and Steven Phee knotted a goal late in the third for the Saints.

Tyler Bruggeman recorded 31 saves and gave just one goal. Austin Severson finished with 17 saves for the Foresters.

St. Scholastica (8-1-2) travels to Saint John's University next weekend to take on the Johnnies on Friday night at 7:00 p.m.
