No. 2 St. Cloud State Sweeps No. 20 UMD

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The No. 2 St. Cloud State men's hockey team jumped out to a three-goal lead en route to beating No. 20 University of Minnesota Duluth 5-1 to sweep the weekend series on Saturday night at AMSOIL Arena.

Charlie Sampair got the lone goal for the Bulldogs in the second period. UMD was outshot 27-20.

Aaron Crandall started the game in the goal for UMD but was pulled in the third period after giving up five goals. Alex Fons finished the game for the Bulldogs.

UMD (6-7-1) travels to Western Michigan on Friday, Dec. 13 for a weekend showdown with the Broncos.
