No. 20 UMD Skates Past No. 13 North Dakota

Grand Forks, ND (NNCNOW.com) --- The No. 20 University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) men's hockey team scored three first period goals en route to beating No. 13 North Dakota 6-3 on Saturday night at the Ralph Engelstad Arena.

Alex Iafallo got the scoring started for the Bulldogs. Adam Krause scored later in the first, and Austin Farley added a power-play goal to make it 3-1.

Sammy Spurrell capitalized late in the second before Krause added another goal in the third. Joe Basaraba finished off North Dakota with an empty-netter.

UMD (5-4-1) will play again next weekend on the road at the University of Minnesota.
