No. 8 Saints Suffer Their First Loss of the Year

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The No. 8 St. Scholastica women's hockey team brought a one-goal lead into the third period but couldn't hang on as Adrian College scored two unanswered goals to win it 3-2 and hand the Saints their first loss of the year.

Nina Waidacher got the scoring started for CSS in the first period before the Bulldogs tied it up at one a piece. Waidacher added another goal in the second before Adrian added two of their own.

Lindsey Hartfiel stopped 27 shots for the Saints while her counterpart, Jade Walsh, recorded 22 stops.

St. Scholastica (8-1-2) doesn't play again until 2014 when they hit the road to take on Marian University on Jan. 10.
