Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The No. 9 University of Minnesota-Duluth football team jumped out to a 31-point first half lead and built off of it in the second to rout Northern State 52-0 in their first trip to Malosky Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Senior cornerback Kenny Chowa forced a fumble on the second play of the game when he sacked Beavers quarterback Zac Cunha. The Bulldogs scored on the ensuing play on an Austin Sikorksi run.

It was much of the same on the next drive. UMD blocked Minot State's punt and on their second offensive play of the game, Sikorski and the Bulldogs scored again.

Junior tight end transfer Taylor Grant had two touchdowns grabs, his first two at UMD. Redshirt freshman quarterback Drew Bauer was 10-if-15 for 138 yards and two scores.

Sikorski led the ground attack for UMD with two scores and 77 yards on 14 carries. Eric Kline, Logan Lauters, and Steve Ierulli each scored for the Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs defense held the Beavers to minus-35 yards rushing and 138 total yards.

UMD (6-1) travels to Bemidji State to take on the Beavers next Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
