Rainey Set a Record, 'Dogs Beat No. 1 Concordia

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Junior libero Julie Rainey racked up 30 kills to become UMD's all-time leader in digs while the No. 3 Bulldogs held on to beat No. Concordia-St. Paul 3-2 on Saturday afternoon at Romano Gymnasium.

In their regular season finale, UMD jumped out to a 2-0 lead before the Golden Bears rallied to tie it up in front of 1,841 fans.

Senior outside hitter Kate Lange racked up 31 kills while junior outside hitter Katie Ledwell added 13 digs. Freshman Sydnie Mauch and Monica Turner each had double-digit kills, 13 and 11.

UMD, which will be the No. 2 seed in the NSIC tournament, will host a quarterfinal match at home on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
