St. Paul, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- It has not yet been decided whether the Minnesota Wild will open the season at home or on the road, according to sources cited Tuesday by the Minneapolis Star Tribune's Michael Russo.
Russo wrote on his blog early Tuesday that his sources indicated the Wild would open at home Jan. 19 against Colorado, but later in the day cited other sources that said Minnesota could be on the road to open the year.
Jan. 19 is the expected start day for the NHL season, with players and owners anticipated to ratify the new collective bargaining agreement late this week.
Reports indicate the owners will vote on ratification sometime Wednesday, but the players will wait until Saturday. That likely means a Sunday start for most league training camps, although most teams began hosting informal workouts on Monday after the handshake deal was announced.
