Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The St. Scholastica baseball team has been picked as the preseason favorite in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) coaches' poll, an expected title that would add to the Saints' 17 straight regular season conference championships.

Several Northlanders highlight a strong class of returners for the Saints, those being starting pitcher and Duluth, Minn. native Mickie Keuning, relief pitcher and Cloquet, Minn. native Thomas Rogers, and infielder and Duluth, Minn. native Parker Olson.

The Saints last season posted an overall record of (29-11) and qualified for a ninth-straight NCAA Division III tournament.

Northland College, based in Ashland, Wis., was picked to finish sixth this season in the UMAC after completing the Lumberjacks' first winning season last year since 2006.
