Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- If Al "The Haitian Temptation" Sands has anything to say to someone contemplating challenging him for the Minnesota cruiserweight title, it will likely be simple --- I've been waiting.
Sands said Monday, just two days after the latest knockout victory of his professional career, that few people have contacted his camp about a possible title shot since he won the belt this past April.
"We're still waiting for the phone to ring," Sands said. "We're not hiding. We're right here for them. If they want me to defend my title against them, that'll be up to them."
After his win this past Saturday, "The Haitian Temptation" is now (10-1) as a professional with all 10 wins coming via knockout. His latest win came over Justin Howes, who currently owns the West Virginia heavyweight title.
Sands said his current plans have him waiting until October for his next fight, but that could easily change if the right situation were to present itself.
