Three Spartans Earn WHCA All-State Honors

Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- Three members of the Superior boys' hockey team have been given all-state honors by the Wisconsin Hockey Coaches' Association (WHCA), it was announced on Tuesday.

Senior defenseman Trent Olson and junior forward Aaron Miller were each named to the first team, while junior forward Aaron Wakefield-Zubiate was given honorable mention.

Miller was the Spartans' leading scorer in the 2012-13 season, finishing the year with 16 goals and 26 assists. Olson served as the team's captain from the blue line, totaling four goals and six assists on the year.

Wakefield-Zubiate, meanwhile, finished as the team's second-leading scorer with 13 goals and 19 assists on the season.

Superior finished the season with an overall record of (14-8-1) and were knocked out in the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) tournament semifinals by Eau Claire Memorial.
