Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Duluth Denfeld football team posted an overall record of (0-9) in the 2012 season, but head coach Frank Huie says it's because of those failures that this year's team is poised to succeed.

"We say that it's through adversity you find the true character of a man," Huie said. "Well, we've had plenty of adversity to find out what our character was like, and I think this offseason has showed exactly what kind of character those guys have."

Huie says he brings back an experienced team this season with plenty of players having had varsity experience, but he knows they will have to earn what they get.

"I think it's really important that our kids have the attitude that we can be the David," Huie said. "We don't have to be the Goliath."

The Hunters' first game of the 2013 season is scheduled for Aug. 29 on the road against Cambridge-Isanti.
