UMD Women 8th in Preseason NSCAA Ranks

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) women's soccer team is ranked eighth in the National Soccer Coaches' Association of American (NSCAA) preseason rankings, it was announced on Thursday afternoon.

The Bulldogs finished the 2013 season ranked seventh by the NSCAA after posting an overall record of (17-4-0) and qualifying for the NCAA Division II Elite Eight tournament.

UMD is the highest ranked of four Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) teams in the NSCAA poll, with MSU-Mankato (15), Southwest Minnesota State (21), and Winona State (23) being the other three.

Returning players at UMD will leave on Friday along with the coaching staff for a preseason trip that spans 10 days and three European countries, with the Bulldogs' first game of 2014 scheduled for Sept. 5 against Southwest Baptist.
