UMD's Miller 11th in Heptathlon at NCAAs

Pueblo, CO (NNCNOW.com) --- University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) sophomore finished in 11th place in this week's women's heptathlon at the 2013 NCAA Division II outdoor track and field championships in Pueblo, Colo., with that event wrapping up on Friday afternoon.

"I may not be leaving as an All American but I'm leaving with an experience," Miller tweeted following her final event. "Something that lit a fire inside of me to fight next year!"

Miller finished with 4882 points in the seven-event competition and was just 78 points shy of eighth place, which is the mark needed to earn All-American status.

The Burnsville, Minn. native was named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) outdoor women's field athlete of the year, that after she set a school-record of 4,886 points in the heptathlon at the conference meet this season.
