Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) sophomore Chanel Miller has been named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) women's outdoor track and field athlete of the week, it was announced on Wednesday.

Miller won the NSIC outdoor heptathlon championship this past Monday, scoring a program-record 4,886 points in the process.

The UMD sophomore won two of the seven events, those being the 800-meter run and the 100-meter hurdles, and she was second in both the shot put and the javelin.

Miller also owns the NSIC indoor pentathlon title, which she also won in record-breaking fashion earlier this year.
