UMD's Miller Wins NSIC Outdoor Heptathlon Title

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) sophomore Chanel Miller won the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) outdoor heptathlon championship on Monday, and she did so in record-breaking fashion.

Miller finished the event with 4,886 points, breaking her own record from the 2012 NSIC outdoor championships by 109 points.

The UMD sophomore, who also won the NSIC indoor pentathlon title, placed first in both the 100-meter hurdles and the 800-meter run and placed second in both the shot put and the javelin.

Fellow Bulldogs sophomore Amelia Maher finished seventh in the event, totaling 4,138 points while placing first in the high jump.
