Cloquet, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Cloquet, Minn. native and current University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) men's hockey assistant coach Derek Plante says fellow Cloquet, Minn. native Jamie Langenbrunner can still be valuable to an NHL team.
"He's such a well-rounded player, and he can play in every situation," said Plante of Langenbrunner. "He can kill penalties. He can play on the top line or play on the fourth line. He's always been such a huge competitor, so I'd like to see him get another kick at the can."
Langenbrunner played in just four games this past season before undergoing season-ending hip surgery, marking an early end to his 18th year in the NHL.
With 277 goals and 473 assists across his professional career, Langenbrunner is now an unrestricted free agent has said this offseason he is hopeful to get another opportunity to play in the NHL.
