UMD's Wojciechowski is 2013 All-American

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) freshman infielder Alex Wojciechowski has been named to the 2013 Daktronics All-American third team, it was announced on Friday afternoon.

Wojciechowski becomes the first Bulldogs player since 2005, and just the third player in the program's history, to reach All-American status.

The Coon Rapids, Minn. native led the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) this season with a .429 batting average, that en route to becoming the first-ever player to earn NSIC freshman and player of the year honors in the same season.

He also led the Bulldogs in 2013 campaign with 51 hits, 15 doubles, and five home runs while also posting a team-high .675 slugging percentage.

Wojciechowski has signed a summer contract to play with the Duluth Huskies of the Northwoods League, and that team's first game is scheduled for May 29.
