Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- None of the members of the current UW-Superior women's basketball team were born the last time the Yellowjackets beat UW-Eau Claire, but that was a streak this current group snapped on Wednesday night.

UW-Superior beat UW-Eau Claire 73-65 at Mertz Mortorelli Gym, earning the first win for the Yellowjackets in this series since Dec. 15, 1987.

Sally Linzmeier led the home team with 24 points, six rebounds, and six steals in the winning effort. She was one of four Yellowjackets to score in double digits, the others being Connie Urmanski (15), Kristen Nett (15), and Hillary Peterson (12).

UW-Superior improves to (6-2) overall this season with the winning effort.
