WMU Completes Weekend Sweep of UMD

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) men's hockey team led 2-0 but couldn't hang on down the stretch as Western Michigan rallied to win 4-3 and eliminate UMD from the NCHC playoffs on Saturday night.

Tony Cameranesi, Adam Krause, and Joe Basaraba all scored for the Bulldogs who led 3-2 after two periods. The Broncos answered with two goals of their own in the final frame to oust UMD.

Aaron Crandall finished with just seven saves in net for the Bulldogs while Frank Slubowski racked up 34 for the Broncos.

With the loss, UMD finishes the season at (16-16-4).
