Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- The St. Scholastica women's hockey team notched a goal late in the second period off of the stick of senior Monika Waidacher en route to beating No. 7 University of Wisconsin-Superior (UWS) 3-2 on Tuesday night.

Duluth, Minn. native Nikkie Logergren put the Saints on the board with a power-play goal midway through the first period. Briana Stephens added a goal with less than a minute left in the first to push St. Scholastica's lead to two.

The Yellowjackets answered in the second with two of their own to tie the game up before Waidacher scored the eventual game-winning goal.

Saints goaltender Lindsey Hartfiel finished with 34 shots while Shanley Peters stopped 16 shots for UWS.

CSS will face St. Norbert College on Saturday in their regular season finale while UWS enters the WIAC playoffs as the No. 3 seed and will know their opponent after this weekend's action.
