Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- St. Scholastica junior Nina Waidacher is now not only the first athlete from that school to compete at an Olympic Games, she is also the first-ever Saint to win an Olympic medal.

Waidacher returned to Duluth, Minn. late Wednesday night, fresh off winning a bronze medal with the Swtizerland women's hockey team at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games.

"I don't even know what happened," Waidacher said of winning the bronze medal game against Sweden. "We were just on the ice and screaming into every single camera. I still don't believe that we won a medal."

Waidacher was teammates with University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) freshman Lara Stalder, who also returned to the Twin Ports this weekend with her bronze medal.
