Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- More than an estimated 1,000 fans took advantage of their opportunity to watch the Wild in action on Tuesday during an open practice at AMSOIL Arena with players just as excited to be in the Northland for a few days.

Fans of all ages filled AMSOIL and for some, it was a chance to see their favorite players up close and personal.

"It's definitely Zach Parise," said Andrew Reyelts, a six-year-old fan. "He's really fun to watch. He's a really good player, and he has good dekes. He knows how to score goals."

"Just to see how fast it was in person, there's no question it seems faster when you're here," said Tom Rheaume, a Wild fan. "The size of the guys on the small ice sheet and how they can move the puck is just impressive."

Some players even stopped afterward to sign autographs for fans. For them, it was an enjoyable two-day retreat.
