Wilderness Shut Out in NAHL Playoff Opener

Cloquet, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Wenatchee Wild scored two goals in the second period and saw Chase Perry make 29 saves in a 3-0 win over the Minnesota Wilderness in a North American Hockey League (NAHL) first-round playoff game.

David Powlowski scored in the first period for the Wild before Matthew Nuttle and Nicholas Rivera each tallied in the second period, part of the shutout effort on the road for Wenatchee.

University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) commit Kasimir Kaskisuo made 27 saves in goal for the Wilderness, but he also took the loss for the home team.

The same two teams will play game two of the best-of-five series on Saturdat night, with that scheduled for a 7:05 p.m. start at Northwoods Credit Union Arena.
