Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Former University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) forwards Aleksandra Vafina and Iya Gavilrova both officially made the Russian Olympic Team after the roster was officially announced on Tuesday.

Vafina and Gavrilova will both make their second Olympic appearance at the Sochi Games after winning a bronze with Russia last spring at the 2013 IIHF World Championship.

Although she played just one season with the Bulldogs, Vafina finished with four goals and six assists as a freshman.

Gavrilova played for the Bulldogs in 2007-2008 and totaled 19 goals and 22 assists in 26 games.
