Villila, Finland Top Switzerland in Olympics

Sochi, Russia (NNCNOW.com) --- Current University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) junior Tea Villila and the Finland women's hockey team beat Switzerland 4-3 in overtime on Thursday morning at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games, marking the Finns' first win of the Games.

Switzerland also has representation from the Northland, with current UMD freshman Lara Stalder and current St. Scholastica junior Nina Waidacher on that team's roster.

Finland finishes the preliminary round with an overall record of (1-2-0) and Switzerland finishes at (0-3-0), but both will compete on Saturday in the quarterfinal round.
