Warroad Native Oshie, U.S. Get Past Russia

Sochi, Russia (NNCNOW.com) --- Warroad, Minn. native T.J. Oshie converted on four of his six shootout chances to help the U.S. past Russia 3-2 on Saturday morning in an eight-round shootout at the Bolshoy Ice Dome.

WIth international hockey rules, teams are allowed to send out the same shooter as many times as they'd like. Oshie proved to be the difference maker while netminder Jonathan Quick stopped 29 of 31 shots.

Cam Fowler and Joe Pavelski each scored during regulation for the Americans.

The U.S. will face off against Slovenia on Sunday at 6:30 a.m.
