Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - The 28th annual "Rotary Club 25" rose sale kicked off Thursday.
The event raises money for numerous community projects including flood relief, fencing in the soccer fields on Jean Duluth Road and lighting the Aerial Lift Bridge.
The rose sale typically generates more than $50,000 in grants and scholarships annually for the Northland community.
The chair of this year's rose committee says that it's an honor to help various causes across the area.
"We just feel fortunate to be able to put this event on to raise funds that are distributed here in the local community with a focus on those in need and the youth of our community," said Steve Allison, the Rose Committee chair.
Rotary club members will be selling tickets in exchange for the roses which will be available for pick up in October.
