Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- Ammunition supplies around the country are at an extreme low.
Sellers of ammo in the Northland say they too are having a difficult time keeping bullets in stock.
Superior Shooters Supply has witnessed this shortage first hand.
According to owner Pat Kukull, the shortage began last year due to the political atmosphere at the time with the attempted passage of stricter gun laws.
Most gun stores are rationing their ammo supply, allowing only one box per customer per day.
Kukull hopes that people understand that all of the gun stores in the area are doing the best that they can under the circumstances.
"We are not hiding any in the backroom. We are trying to be fair with everybody. We are trying to keep the prices down, and if they would be as patient as they can be. We understand their frustration but we do sell this for a living so we are equally as frustrated," says Kukull.
Wholesalers are also rationing the products they sell to retail outlets.
Instead of ten cases of ammo per day, many stores are receiving one.
Kukull says the demand simply outweighs the supply.
