Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) - This deadline seems that it will come before the Minnesota Supreme Court decides on whether or not the DFL endorsed candidate for District 7B Erik Simonson's name will appear on the ballot.

In a petition filed with the Minnesota Supreme Court, the DFL party challenged the St. Louis County Auditor's rejection of both Representative Kerry Gauthier's affidavit of withdrawal, and the nomination certificate the DFL filed after last weekend's convention.

Simonson initially launched a write in campaign after Representative Kerry Gauthier's campaign was derailed by news that he had engaged in a sexual act with a minor at a rest stop in Duluth.
