Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com)-- Another business is setting up shop, two shops actually, in Downtown Duluth. In what's quickly becoming a magnet for the arts, owners of "Art in the Alley Home" are hoping to cash in on what they say is a growing trend in the Northland.
"It just feels right. You can feel the energy. You can feel it literally growing before you," said Tammi LaPole Edmunds, owner of Art in the Alley. "There is no other place to be."
Just a few short months after Tammi LaPole Edumunds brought her shop, Art in the Alley to Duluth, another shop has opened up, just across the street.
"We ran out of space in a very rapid amount of time for what we want to do," said LaPole Edmunds. "It's all for your home. You can take anything and put it right in your house and you'll feel that exact same energy in your home."
Art in the Alley Home is taking the style of their sister store, which sells pieces of art, and concentrating on home décor.
"We're all about originals and we're all about one of a kind pieces."
Using "upcycling" to fill the store; forgotten Items found in thrift stores and auctions, are hand selected, and re-imagined by her artists.
"It's taking something and making it better, making it one of a kind and artistic for your home," said artist Melanie Sternberg. "We take it and we remake it so it has a new colorful life."
While also breathing new life into the downtown arts scene.
Art in the Alley Home hours are Thursday through Saturday from ten in the morning to six at night. .
