Cloquet, MN (NNCNOW.com) - A death in a home, that Cloquet police felt was suspicious yesterday, has now been ruled accidental.

The St. Louis County Medical Examiner's Office ruled that 61-year-old Dan Roen's death was accidental due to an apparent fall.

Police were called to his home on the 800 block of 8th street in Cloquet around noon Tuesday after a friend looked through a window of the house and saw Roen lying on the floor.

Several people were questioned as part of an investigation surrounding the circumstances of his death.

Cloquet police called in the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension which helped with the investigation.

"Any time law enforcement goes into, this happens to be a residence, and finds a body, if something doesn't appear to be right, which gives rise to suspicion , something may seem out of place, we need to, as law enforcement, err on the side of caution, and that's exactly what we did, " said Deputy Chief Terry Hill with the Cloquet Police Dept.

Cloquet Deputy Chief Terry Hill says the police department's thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time.
