A benefit for the family of Jeff Bowen is planned for Monday, August 15th at Clyde Iron Works in Duluth. Proceeds will help pay for funeral costs, water safey education and a memorial site for Jeff.

"Pretty much everybody that I talk to is asking what [they] can do to help," said Bowen family friend and Fathers and Children Together (FACT) Outreach worker, Alan Baumgarten-Leveille, "This is one thing you can do to help the family get through this time so they don't have to worry about financial stresses because of this."

FACT is helping put on the benefit, which will include a silent auction and live music.

"A big part of this is that we have seen such a huge outpouring of support from the community and we want the community to feel that," said Baumgarten-Leveille, "The family feels it and we feel it but I don't know if the community as a whole knows how much people are pulling together for this situation."

Remaining proceeds will go to the St. Louis County Rescue Squad who helped search for Bowen.

Bowen drowned nearly two weeks ago in 'The Deeps' of Amity Creek. His body was recovered early last week.

Organizers are still seeking donations for Monday's benefit. For more information on how to donate contact Alan Baumgarten-Leveille at 218-391-8330. The benefit will be held from 5 to 9 p.m.
