A stepping stone has been crossed in Carinda Horton's campaign for Minnesota State Representative.
Today was the Grand Opening of her Campaign Office located off of Woodland Avenue.
Horton is running against DFL incumbent Tom Huntly who has held the seat for almost two decades.
Horton, a former Duluth city councilor and talk show host has put in 16 hours of door– knocking in the past two days.
Twelve events will be held in the month of October to continue to promote her campaign.
Horton says having the new office is a big part of the campaign strategy because the location is so accessible.
"It's all about being accessible to our community, Horton said. "If you look at where our location is, it's right in the heart of District 7A. It's easy to get to. It's easy for people to learn a little about where I stand, but also for me to hear what they have to say."
Horton's office is open Monday through Friday 10 to 6 p.m.
