Superior, WI(NNCNOW.com)--- The City of Superior officially welcomed the new Super One store in East End to town Monday.

The Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new store on Highway 2 and 22nd Avenue East.

The store opened on Sunday morning, and owners say the opening has exceeded expectations.

The Super One in the Belknap Plaza, and one on East Fifth Street, closed and merged together for the new store.

In May of last year the Miner family, which owns the chain of the Super One grocery stores, broke ground on the new multi-million dollar store.

"it's taken a lot of effort from a tremendous amount of people to be able to finally open the doors and a tremendous amount of preparation so we thank everyone's efforts. To finally be at this place, we look forward to serving the community well into the future," said Patrick Miner, Store Director.

The store currently has vacant retail space around it, and Miner says they hope to surround it with other shops and service outlets, but would not comment on specifics.
