Mille Lacs, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) - Minnesota Congressman Chip Cravaack has announced he will introduce legislation that would end federal authority over some out door activities on Mille Lacs Lake.
Congressman Cravaack made the announcement at Mille Lacs Lake earlier today.
Cravaack says his legislation would stop Coast Guard regulations that require fishing guides to obtain a specific license and pass a grueling test.
Cravaack says the legislation would also end the quote "intrusive over reach of the Coast Guard to Minnesota's great fishing tradition".
Mille Lacs Lake has been a federally navigable body of water since March of 2010.
