Virginia, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Authorities in Virginia are now looking for a murder suspect after autopsy results have determined that the suspicious death of a 29-year-old man was the result of homicidal violence.
The suspicious death of a Virginia man found Tuesday has been ruled a homicide.
According to the St Louis County Medical Examiner's Office, 29-year-old Harley Jacka died as a result of homicidal violence.
The death investigation began after the Virginia Police Department received a call around 4:30 Tuesday night from a man who told them there was a dead man in his apartment.
Residents of the apartment building say the tenant left for a few days and let a friend stay while he was gone. When he returned, that's when he found Jacka dead in his apartment, and his friend, nowhere to be found.
No suspects have been arrested in connection to the death but today a multi-agency briefing was held here at CIty Hall to help find the person or persons responsible for this crime.
Detective Jared Kral with the Virginia Police Department says they are following up on people of interest, but that there is no threat to public safety
The investigation into Jacka's death is ongoing
The Virginia Police Department is working with the MInnesota BCA, St louis County Sheriff's Office St Louis County Attorney's Office, Eveleth Police Department, and the F-B-I in the investigation.
