DULUTH, MINN. -- Minnesota provides Disabled Vets with free public transportation on DTA busses and now Superior Wisconsin will follow suit.

Passengers throughout the region ride the DTA Buses from Minnesota to Wisconsin.

The problem is once they get to Wisconsin, they must pay to get back.
Wisconsin Mayor Dave Ross announced today that effective August 18th, disabled veterans are to be afforded free transportation.

"If you possess this card, saying that you are a disabled veteran and you use this to identify yourself, your ride is free," Ross said.

This change will cost the city around 4 to 6 hundred dollars annually.

Mayor Ross will announce this plan to the city council on Tuesday night.
