With many tourist drawing attractions including the Great Lakes Aquarium, William Irvin ship tours, and Spirit Mountain's Adventure Park...it is safe to say that tourist dollar's spent, helps the city of Duluth's budget in a major way.

"It's excellent for our local economy. It's so important that we appreciate the tourists that come up here because their one's that are making our community thrive", commented Lori Melton who is the Director of Marketing at the Glensheen Mansion.

Those visiting from out of town look to Duluth as also a meeting place.

"It is a beautiful city. People are really friendly. We missed the music festival...we're bummed about that. It sounds like everybody had a good time",said Erin Kennedy and Dan Snell.

Erin and Dan are in a long distance relationship, and say that Duluth was their first choice when searching for cities to meet in.

"Well we don't know much but that's why we're coming. It seems like there is a lot of stuff to do. We talked about that Glensheen Mansion", said Kennedy and Snell.

With the thousands of couples and families that have made the trip to Duluth in the past, the upcoming tourism season is looking nothing but promising.

"We're just looking at a great year and we've been doing well so far so...looking to continue that",said Schlangen

"Both Saturdays and Sundays have been better than last year, so were really anticipating an excellent summer", said Melton.

As for Erin and Dan...oh they'll be back.

"It's a good meeting place. It's a lot of fun and there is still a lot of stuff we want to do so we'll probably keep meeting here", commented Kennedy and Snell.

Duluth Pack said they recorded their best day of the 2012 year so far this past weekend.
