(Northland's NewsCenter)---Iron Range mining equipment company is poised to begin a $3.1 million expansion.
Ellefson Off Highway near Hibbing, received a $650,000 bank participation loan from the Iron Range Resources and Rehabilitation Board today.
A machine shed and storage building are part of the expansion plan.
Nine new jobs will be created as a result of the expansion.
IRRRB Commissioner Tony Sertich says the company is well positioned to fit growing needs on the Iron Range and beyond.
"This is a company that started recently," Sertich said. "Really their growth is in mining operations all over the world. So we want to keep the jobs here local, and keep them competing in a global economy."
Ellefson Off Highway was founded in 2010.
