Duluth, MN Police are still investigating what led to the first homicide in Duluth since 2010.

Two suspects are in custody but there are still many questions that remain unanswered.

Answers the family of the victim is desperately searching for.

A memorial now sits outside the building where a man was found dead early Friday morning.

Asking to be identified only by her first name, Ashley says the victim, identified by family as Josh Olson of Duluth, was the father of her children and a man she describes as a loving father.

"He did everything for them. He always wanted to take them to the parks. He bought them anything they wanted, actually he spoiled him rotten".

Police responded to an apartment building in downtown Duluth after a man was found dead in one of the apartments.

The 37–year–old tenant of the apartment where the body was found has been taken in to custody in connection with the murder, along with another 47–year old suspect.

It's an act of violence that has left family members shocked...and children left wondering.

"These kids are already asking when they can see him, because some of them don't get it. They just want to be with their dad and somebody took him away from them. It's hard", said Ashley.

The children...the oldest being just six...say they miss their dad and remember going to the park and just being with their father.
As for what they would say to their father...

"I love you daddy", were the words of one of the children.

Both suspects in the case have lengthy criminal records according to Minnesota court records.

The 37–year–old suspect is being held charges of 2nd degree murder.

The 47–year–old faces charges for aiding and abetting 2nd degree murder.

Both are being held at the St. Louis County Jail.
