Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - Supporters of the right to bears arms took to the streets Tuesday to share their message.

A handful of people gathered at the corner of 46th Avenue West and Grand Avenue with signs in hand.

They're asking Minnesota lawmakers to rethink proposed gun control legislation.

One of the gun control opponents says the bills on the table are an infringement on their second amendment rights.

"Guns are the only way we have of defending ourselves against someone who outweighs us, or catches us (off guard) and I believe we should have the right to defend our homes against intruders and anyone else who threaten to do us harm," said Ellis Thompson, a gun control opponent.

A Minnesota Senate committee is expected to analyze several gun control bill proposals on Thursday and Friday at the capitol.
