(NNCNOW.com) -- Three minutes might not be enough time to hear somebody's life story, but when it comes to friendly introductions and first impressions, it suffices for most people.
But in the coming years, women who are introduced to one Hayward man will be taken aback, after a Washburn County Judge handed down an unusual probation sentence.
The small town of Hayward Wisconsin is known mainly for its musky fishing and the American Birkebeiner.
But a Washburn County Judge is putting the tourist town in the spotlight for something a little out of the ordinary.
"It's wild," said John Shenk of Eau Claire. "It sounds like something off of Curb Your Enthusiasm."
What's got folks at this coffee shop buzzing is the probation terms of 28-year-old John Butler, who pleaded no contest in Sawyer Count to failure to pay child support.
Judge Eugene Harrington, in an unconventional move, ordered Butler to stop having children until he pays off his back child support.
The inability to procreate isn't the only order in the judge's sentence. In addition whenever he talks to a female the clock starts ticking and in three minutes he needs to disclose he is a felon, and that he owes child support.
Three minutes that some feel will be hard to enforce.
"It seems to me in order to enforce that you have to have someone invading this guy's privacy," said Steve Dvorak of Hayward.
"I wouldn't want my tax dollars to pay for the police officer to follow him around everywhere with a stop watch," Shenk said.
The judge had no comment on the details of sentencing.
The Sawyer County District Attorney's Office says Butler has at least two kids and owes about $23,000 in child support.
