Chisholm, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- A multi-million dollar loan to expand the Delta Airlines project in Chisholm is being considered by the Iron Range Resources and Rehabilitation Board.
Delta air lines is seeking a nearly $6 million dollar loan to renovate its 40,000 square foot facility to build a state of the art customer engagement center with the loan.
If it's approved, the expansion project is expected to create more than 100 new jobs.
“Delta Air Lines has been a valued business partner on the Iron Range for nearly 20 years,” said Commissioner Tony Sertich. “This expansion demonstrates the company’s long-term commitment to the region.”
“Delta Air Lines looks forward to signing a new agreement with the Iron Range Resources and Rehabilitation Board to continue the long-term partnership with our Customer Engagement Center in Chisholm,” said Allison Ausband, vice president-Reservation Sales and Customer Care.
“Under the proposed new agreement, Delta will provide even greater job opportunities in the region.
Ausband says the Chisholm center will become a model for other Delta Customer Engagement Centers. She says, "It's expected to showcase design concepts that create greater efficiencies, improve employee engagement and promote an atmosphere of high employee morale and performance."
The IRRRB will consider more than $11 million in funding for three business expansion projects at its meeting on Thursday.
