Aurora, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) - An Iron Range student is back home this week after participating in the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington D.C.

Emma Greenlee, 13, attends Mesabi East High School in Aurora. She made it to the preliminary round of the spelling bee where she correctly spelled the words temerity and hobbledehoy.

Before making it to the national spelling bee, Greenlee won the multi–regional spelling bee in Fergus Falls.

Greenlee hopes to participate in the national spelling bee again next year, the last in which she's eligible.

Greenlee will enter 8th grade this fall.
