KEEWATIN, MN (Northland's NewsCenter)---One mine on the Iron Range has been recognized nationally for its strong safety record in 2010.
The Mine Safety and Health Administration congratulated Keetac, a taconite mine in Keewatin, at the Sentinel of Safety Awards Luncheon in Washington on Tuesday.
The mine had no injuries or fatalities on site that resulted in lost work time.
Awards are given to mining operations in ten different categories and are based on a minimum of 4,000 hours of work.
